C-o-o-l

All kinds of cool stuff has been going on here. We took in three new babies last weekend. Two of them were severely malnourished and very sick. Their parents had taken them to the ER a week before they brought them to us, but the ER wouldnt let them in. The ER didnt want to waste time on impoverished babies they couldnt possibly save. The first one to come in was Diana, she is five months old and weighs six pounds. Her sister Angie is 16 months old, weighs about 10 pounds and cannot walk. Her lungs were so full of junk that the doctor said she was sure to die. But they are much better now. They have had nonstop twenty-four hours a day one on one care since they arrived. They are both starting to coo and laugh, and Angie is trying to walk.
Yesterday Avianca gave the home a huge donation of unclaimed baggage. The airline staff had already gone through it and gotten all the valuable stuff. But even so, it was something else. Most of the clothes were nicer than anything i have ever owned. Lots of Nik, G@P, Armäñi,(sorry bout that, i dont want them advertising on my page) and some brand from Barcelona that i had never heard of. So when we go up the mountain next time, we are taking it all up there to give away.
Today i tought my first english class. It was pretty cool. Amy already set up a lesson plans, so all i have to do is follow the directions. I was worried that the children wouldnt respect me as a teacher. I dont spend time with them in any kind of structured environment, just playtime. But we did the usual classtime routine and they all settled right in. it was cool, they even followed directions pretty good. By the end of class they were getting a little crazy, but now i can see where i should have put my foot down, which i will do next class. I am excited for next week. I love to see them light up when they learn something new.
